Dentist at large – Dr Yashin’s trip to the USA – Part 1

Last month I took a trip to the USA to visit family in Michigan and Connecticut and was able to tour these states as well as New York and Chicago.

I went to a number of art and natural history museums and couldn’t help but take photos of how different species have different tooth anatomy based on their diets and jaw function. (There is a bit of poetic licence with these links).

No trip is complete without visiting the local dental faculties and I was lucky to visit both Michigan University and New York University dental schools where the staff and students were so welcoming and hospitable. At these universities, I was able to sit in on laboratory research meetings as well as observe the root canal, periodontal and prosthodontic clinics.
