Being a Dentist can dangerous series dominated the month.
Being a Dentist Can Be Dangerous – Diseases – Part 5 – Covid 19 World
Being a Dentist Can Be Dangerous – Diseases – Part 6 – Covid 19 Changes
While the original Omicron strain (BA.1) is no longer circulating, Omicron subvariants are now driving most SARS-CoV-2 infections. Omicron was first identified in Botswana and South Africa in late November 2021, and cases quickly began to surface and multiply in other countries.
Being a Dentist Can Be Dangerous – Diseases – Part 7- Covid-19 Human Response
The human response was to save lives. The genome of the virus was mapped out at Sydney University in 2 weeks flat. Amazing! The hunt now was to produce a vaccine.
There was quarantining of nations, travel, location and people. We all had to change our behaviour to save ourselves form each other. Of course, not everyone agreed with the emergency conditions and vaccines. I would not like be one the decision maker. You do not always have the time or the resources to do double blind studies on every decision. A lot of decision were based on the last pandemic of 100 years ago.
Remember the virus is trying to survive too. It’s like working with the “shifting sands”. It’s mutating. People will do what they want to do at the detriment of others. So, the permutations of decision making are endless!
The rest of July focused on The Sydney Harbour Bridge Charity Run 2024 – Team Miroma – for Adults with Challenges and Abilities
Team Miroma will again do the Harbour Bridge Run on Sunday, 15 September 2024. Team Miroma 2024 will be joined again by a long-time family friend & runner, Jo.
The event is the ASIC Marathon Bridge Run event. The run is called a 10km Marathon. Sounds more impressive! The start time is 7:25am.
This involves Coastal training for Harbour Bridge 10 km Run Sunday 15th September 2024
Then To Seal or Fill – That is the Question was asked.
This happens any time in life when the bite changes. The sticker the sugar that a person eats, the more fuel for the trapped bacteria, and the greater the chance, and severity, of decay into the dentine.

Team Miroma – The Main Event – Sydney 10km Harbour Bridge Marathon, Sunday 15th Sept 2024
We did it! 10km, in the biting cold gusty wind. At one point -2km wind then a +2km gust. Some Lebanese drums and then the medals! Jo you’re a legend.
Finally, after 93 minutes we finished at the Conservatory of Music; not the Opera House as in previous years. Even though it was freezing, we felt we could run forever. (Not really, but it sounds good).
Thank you from Team Miroma 2024

The month ended with an amazing event and a long overdue break
Dentist at Large – Hawaii – First Holiday in 5 Oh years
Yes, the play on words on the famous police TV show, Hawaii 5O. For those that don’t understand “5 Oh”, that’s the emergency police number.
Why did we end up in Hawaii, more in particular the island of O’ahu and its state capital, Honolulu?
Well, my son was invited to the world Pokémon card game Master’s championship at the Honolulu Convention Centre. It’s a big deal. He is one of 300 from the Oceana region, and 1 of 1,500 players representing some 68 countries over 3 days.
