Tradtional Easter eggs are Eggs. No chocolate to be seen anywhere.
The Egg had meanings and the colour too.
(Dates back to early Christians in Mesopotamia who dyed them red to represent the blood of Christ. Historically, eggs were forbidden during Lent, making decorated eggs a celebratory treat on Easter Sunday).
The tradition spread from Mesopotamia to Eastern Europe, and later through Catholic and Protestant churches.

Easter is both a commemoration and a celebration for Christians around the world. The commemoration is the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. He came into this world humbly and yet he was the Son of God. He lived a short miraculous life that changed the world forever. The celebration was his rising from the dead. Death had no control over him. This is the foundation of the Christian faith. It is not what we do for God, but what God has done for us through Jesus. Without this event in the history of man, the Christian faith is baseless.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
– John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
One of Jesus’ titles in the Holy Scriptures is “the Prince of Peace” (prophet Isaiah 9:6).
Everyone needs peace. We need peace between nations and tribes, peace in our communities, peace in our families, peace in our own hearts, and peace with our Creator, God.
Jesus came to bring that peace.
Thousands of revelers passed by the Peace Tent and hundreds came in to sit, have a cup of chai tea and a conversation about spiritual matters, faith, life and whatever was on their minds and hearts.
There is expressly no politics, no arguments, no proving a point, just listening, polite conversation, gentle enquiry and any questions.
One leader at the Peace Tent wisely said that, “The only Muslim you have to understand is the Muslim sitting opposite you”. That is true not just in cross-cultural experiences of sharing Jesus but in any situation!
Easter is celebrating the Prince of Peace, Jesus the Messiah.
