Team Sunnyfield training in all conditions

August 31, 2026

It’s all happening now. Running everywhere, whenever we can, at all hours to fit into our busy days. The ladies have the jump on already completing various runs. I have only completed a soccer season, with training (ah, many people don’t train).

Yes, I still play the game for Earlwood Wanderers over 45yrs division for many years. I think I’m giving away my age. For the ladies running in the team, I have no idea about theirs… Honest.

My started with some time off and finding out there is more to life stuff.

Anyway, to keep me on the right track, a trainer from the sky yelled out engouement from above, whilst doing a south coast beach run.

Beach run with sky trainer about to swoop down to push me along

Amazing. He would swoop down and run alongside then swoop back up and let me know if there were any sharks in the water and check for incoming tsunamis. Very thorough indeed.

Now for the tree change part of training. Always nice running through nicely manicured gardens of other people’s places.

Beautiful garden, a feast for the eyes, and free of insects, always a bonus

Ellie has got back into town, so we are organising a run together, probably centennial park.

She ran last year with me on the new course around Pyrmont. The Harbour Bridge is now a Marathon event from its humble beginnings as Blackmore’s 10km fun run. It is now very difficult to sign up.

Ellie past training at the Centennial Park yours truly

With Jo we will team up for run in her “hood” at dawn to fit in with her busy life and her family. I am so grateful for her precious time.

Elena striding to the finish at the North South Marathon

Elena has done the most of us all with the North South Marathon in March and recently the City to Surf. We will be having a training run at the beach next week.

Geez, better get cracking with training, otherwise they’ll lap me three times over!

As I’ve learnt over the many years that the only constant is change. Changing James, changed provider, carers, more Team Sunnyfield members, and the donors, but always, always, a grateful family for all these wonderful people!

Sunnyfield has created a webpage tile for our fundraising team mission. This way you can make a tax-deductible donation via the direct links below.

The donations will automatically go to Sunnyfield and it will generate an electronic tax-deductible receipt instantly to your email.

Our son, James, is 28 years old, has autism and is non-verbal. We know firsthand how important it is for young adults with disability to have opportunities to participate, stay active, try new things and feel a genuine sense of belonging in their community.

For James, and for so many others like him, these experiences are about much more than exercise. They’re about confidence, connection, independence and being included.

Be part of the energy. Be part of the cause. Be part of the community.

Donate today and help make every kilometre count.

If you would like to make your donation by phone, please call us on 1300 588 688 Monday–Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
For other donation enquiries please email us on fundraising@sunnyfield.org.au

All donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

And thank you again for helping Sunnyfield raise much needed funds for the people we support.

Kind regards

Anthony Seymour and Sunnyfield.
