Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The year that was and the year to come.

Seymour Dental would not exist without our loyal patients and your referrals to your friends and family. We hope we have fulfilled our mission statement:

Looking back at last year’s Christmas message – All I want for Christmas – are teeth! …  And thank you!

The message still rings true. The aim of the practice is improve people’s lives through knowledge, care, and treatment. Sometimes with a bit of fun so hopeful they do not realise (that much) that they are at the dentist. This has been made a lot easier by the great staff – Renee, Sue, Roni, Maggie, Dilara, Rebecca and Dr Jason Watson.

While I was overseas for a two weeks holiday, the practice was renovated with new cabinetry, flooring, air conditioning and a new chair. We can now find things! And work better, in a more comfortable environment.

There is also behind-the-scenes staff to thank. Thanks to my brother Mark, who is the IT department. Adam at VOLT Creative which runs the website. My father and Nina for general maintenance. The dental labs for their great work. Also I would like to thank the professional people who have given me invaluable advice and support. Thanks to Tristan Dental services for equipment repairs and the renovations.

The website now is 2 years old. The site has grown greatly in size and now is adaptable to iPads, smart Phones. It’s like a mini Wikipedia, with blue text hyperlinks to other parts of the website. The site is now averaging 40 visits a day worldwide. We’re not a Google but we have the best blog models!

The Wairoa Fun Run raised over $2100 in donations to the special school. Thanks to Mark, Crystal, Roni and Alex who helped me train and ran with on the 9km Bridge run.

The year to come will see new staff joining the Seymour Dental bunch. Dr Dilara Yashin will be starting in mid-January 2014. The staff are looking forward to working with her as she joins our Dental family.

Sadly Rebecca will leave us as she starts her dental career. We wish her well. If we had another dentist position she would remain with us!

Thanks to my family who have been an invaluable support throughout all the changes (especially the renovations!).
