DON’T THROW THE CROWN AND ITS ATTACHED BITS AWAY!
Remember:
- If the tooth has been nerve treated there may be no pain associated with the above.
- If the tooth dies slowly, again there may be no pain.
- If the tooth feels like it has moved even slightly, get immediate attention!
- Decay can progress very, very quickly through a crack or gap under a crown.
Yes this is a warning! It’s very serious. Please do not leave it for weeks as it may mean the end of the tooth.
We can try and put the crown back but the tooth has become compromised and other options may need to be explored such as a new crown, a bridge, implants or dentures.
- Why do crowns come off?
- When a crown comes off what do we do? Part 1 – The re-cement
- When a crown comes off what do we do? Part 2 – Rebuild the foundation and reuse the crown
