Not long ago our digital agency let it be known that the site had posted over 200 weekly dental blog articles. We’re a bit chuffed about that. All the staff have contributed to the blog. This could be in the form of writing the material, ideas and photos (even the occasional anatomical selfie). Let’s not forget our famous blog models – forget about Milan, Paris, New York, and London… It’s Google!
We have to thank our web developers at VOLT Creative for making us look good. It’s been fun, educational and another way of engaging with people. When I told a patient when the website was born, she asked “how long was the pregnancy? “I thought it was six months, but I looked at my notes recently and it was nine months!
The topics we have covered range from medical issues that have a bearing on dental health and vice versa. Seymour Dental is about informing people that the mouth is a part of the whole body. It is not a separate entity. This fits in with our mission statement: At Seymour Dental, we are dedicated to providing personal care to assist you in achieving excellent health outcomes for life!
The practice uses the blog articles as educational material to help improve treatment outcomes. This could include changing lifestyle choices that influence outcomes or prevent problems in the first place. The key areas are diet, maintenance and smoking, and other life style issues. The more people understand, the better the outcome. We see it all the time. It is very satisfying to see the change for the better. For people it’s not always easy. Many patients have said, “I’m your worst patient”… I say “The worst patient is the one who is not here!”
The blog articles also have explained the process of arriving at treatment options. This gets into the mind of the dentist’s thought processes. (Sounds a bit scary!). This leads to a treatment plan and an orderly treatment path. We all want to avoid crisis treatment. PAIN IS TOO LATE!
The staff are the backbone (or jawbone) of the practice, who want to work with people to avoid a higher biological and financial cost. As time moves on, your options diminish. Who wants to suffer?!
We also would like to thank all the people who have donated over the years to Wairoa special school.
The blog articles have covered a lot of topics ranging from the very dental to fun and amusing and educational. Thank you for reading them.
