Dr Joy Jun Liu

Seymour Dental would like to welcome Dr Joy Liu to the team.

Dr Joy Liu has a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Sydney. Previously she lived in the U.S. for six years, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. She is a native speaker in English, Chinese and Shanghaiese.

Joy believes in making your dental visit an enjoyable and fun experience. Her gentle and caring nature allows her to be attentive to your oral health needs and providing you with a comprehensive treatment plan.

She is competent in all aspects of dentistry, with particular interests in root canal treatments, gum disease treatments, and aesthetic dentistry. She spends numerous hours attending continuous education courses and reading up on latest literatures and research studies, in order to keep up-to-date with the new advancements in dentistry.

Past Life of Joy

Joy obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Knox College in Galesburg, IL, U.S.A, as well as Bachelor of Medical Science degree from Dominican University in Chicago, IL, U.S.A. She has also studied one year of nursing at the University of Melbourne. Joy has been interested in dentistry since 2009. She attended short courses in pre-clinical dentistry at both University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A) as well as Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (Loma Linda, CA, U.S.A). In the summer of 2012, Joy worked as a congressional intern for Congressman Bobby Schilling, former U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 17th congressional district.

As you can see Joy has been busy for the past few years!

Outside of Dentistry

Joy enjoys travelling, having lived like a local in Shanghai, Chicago, Melbourne and Sydney. She has a curious mind and enjoys making friends with people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds. In her spare time, Joy loves eating out at restaurants, attending concerts, musicals, plays, operas, shows and watching movies.

Joy is an avid fan of traveling. She has been to many interesting places in the world such as Cairns, Hawaii, Cambodia, Costa Rica. She is always interested in knowing about the local culture, history and tradition. In her free time, Joy also enjoys going on hikes with her family and experimenting with cooking.

Joy is fun and a great person to know and work with.
