Merry Christmas to you all!
All Christmases are special. This Christmas is a special one as it is the 30th Christmas of my practice in Dulwich Hill.
There was life before the digital SeymourDental.com.au existed in 2011. The first blog was posted on 20th December 2011 on “Why Seymour Dental?“.
When I first started there was a milk bar (kids you can ask mum and dad what that is!), food shops, the pub, three banks, two supermarkets, one train station and two storey dwellings.
Now there is no milk bar, at least a dozen coffee shops, several wine bars, an international smorgasbord of food shops, one bank, one supermarket, multiple multi-storey apartments and the multiple station light rail network snaking through the suburb. Let’s not forget computers, smart phones, internet, and the NBN coming to your place soon!
Despite all this progress, it’s always about the people. Christmas is about the relationships we have to each other. Christmas is the birthday of Jesus who came into this world to save it. To build a relationship that will last for eternity. That’s a tough act to follow.
I really appreciate all the patients over the many years, many of whom have grown up and now have children of their own. Some patients who live overseas still come in and visit. The world has truly, now, become a smaller place. The other day I rang a patient in Africa needing some advice while they were on a mission there.
That reminds me of our our mission “we are dedicated to providing personal care to assist you in achieving excellent health outcomes for life!” … but I want to add “and some fun along the way.”
I have been blessed with great staff and dentists and lab technicians and support businesses and people, including my brother and father.
Let’s not forget the greatest support, our families and our friends.
