Happy Father’s Day and More Training – Team Miroma!
Seymour Dental would like to wish all the Dads, a great Father’s Day! To hold both my sons in my hands for the first time, are the highlights of my life. For my second son Robbie, four years junior to his brother James, I nearly threw him over my shoulder, as I forgotten how light a new born was. Nearly… oops! Now James is 22 years old and is helped by Miroma and other great carers, such as Brooke, Janette, and Kathy. I am very proud of what James has achieved despite his autism. He loves life and he has even obtained the HSC.
Robbie is now almost finished Year 12 with the HSC exams looming next month. His official jersey from school with “Seymour 19” on it, sums up the long journey he has travelled since that little person I held almost 18 years ago. As a father, I am very proud of the young men they have become!
The theme for training this week has been nocturnal. I ran/jog/walked my first 10km this week. Admittedly running at night in all black gear isn’t the smartest thing you should do. However there was plenty of moonlight but not always street lights, but still got home okay. I even rang around Centennial Park with a crescent moon as my guide, as well as my phone torch.
All this training is for a good cause Team Miroma. Ellie, who ran in the team in 2015, will again help the man over the line. (Unfortunately Dr Joy Liu, has had to pull out due to education commitments). The more people that know about Miroma, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.
The Harbour Bridge Run is on the 15thSeptember 2019.
