Time to explore other realities! Managed to get a way on some short breaks recently.
This place is run by volunteer engineers, flight staff and air crew. Some work on the maintaining or restoring the multitude of aircrafts. Some are airworthy. Some are guides. They literally have to guide you around as the whole site is a workshop and you have to be careful where you can go. They, of course, talk about the aircrafts form the outside and, some from the inside.
Now a dental twist. A fellow dentist once had a stint with the Flying Doctor Service. So, she became the flying dentist, serving the outback of Australia.
So many planes and stories from war and peace times. Aviation is complex and requires a lot of skill sets. The volunteers aren’t getting any younger. Absolutely a treat to visit. They are still getting planes as it a place where they can be persevered and sometimes get them back into the air.
Sometimes they appear in movies and ads…
Worth a look and the guides have real experience and knowledge, unlike a Google search. There is an entry fee of $25, unlike a Google search… for now.
