Closing Dark Places and Spaces in Front Teeth – A Case Study

The clever system uses a material that wraps around the tooth and slides between the gum and the tooth. The clear material is very malleable and can be shaped to close the space between the teeth.

This forms a well for the tooth-coloured material to fill this space.

Now the clever step. We have tooth-coloured materials that flow into this well. We use this to fill the well from the bottom under slight pressure. The well expands more to close the space. This first amount of the tooth-coloured material is set with a bright blue light, called a curing light. The material now won’t move and will hold the well firmly for the bulkier tooth coloured material to be placed to the rest of the well.

The well is over filled, so the shape of the tooth has to be trim to aesthetically blend in with the surround teeth and fit into the bite.

This is the art part of dentistry. The beauty of these materials is that they can be reshaped or added without removing the whole of the material. Repairs are easy to do though injury or wear.

Also, no anesthetics is needed; big plus!

Please remember – this is not tooth. Avoid breaking or tearing hard foods on the material with the first bite. Wear can also occur by overbrushing. Mind you, you’ll also wear your own teeth as well. So, NO SCRUB! Clean please.
