Miroma has been part of our lives for many years, however, the Miroma site was becoming more difficult to sustain for its purpose and Inala has decided to move all its operations to its main site at Cherrybrook and sell the site. Very sad for James and its workers, and the family it became over the many years. It will be missed by the community at large as Miroma was involved in many activities to make the participants inclusive in society.
Thank goodness for Sunnyfield! Some carers here have worked with James in the past. They get James. Everyone’s keen to get James too!
They are a NDIS registered disability support provider that has been supporting local families since 1952.
Sunnyfield’s story started in Sydney in 1952 when Hazel Whiddon decided her son, who had lived experience of intellectual disability, deserved a better life.
So, she helped create a place where people with a disability could live, learn, work, have fun and get the support they needed.

They said to me, “as keeping fit is obviously important to you and us here at Sunnyfield, we’d like to use 100% of your donations to support our Get Active program, helping all Sunnyfield clients take part in fun, physical activities like Pickleball, Surfing, Yoga, wheelchair skateboarding, bowling, gym sessions, and dance classes – just to name a few”.
OK let’s do it! Now that soccer season is over, 10km running training is back on.
Hang on this is Team Sunnyfield!
Joining me again this year is Jo

Our son, James, is 27 years old, has autism and is non-verbal. We know firsthand how important it is for young adults with disability to have opportunities to participate, stay active, try new things and feel a genuine sense of belonging in their community.
For James, and for so many others like him, these experiences are about much more than exercise. They’re about confidence, connection, independence and being included.
Be part of the energy. Be part of the cause. Be part of the community.
